The Baofeng UV-5RA is a compact 2-way hand held transceiver providing 4 watts in the frequency range of 136-174 MHz and 400-480 MHz. It is a compact, economical HT that includes a special VHF receive band from 65-108 MHz which includes the regular FM broadcast band. Dual frequency watch and dual reception is supported. You get up to 128 memories.. more than sufficient for most ham users.

It takes a little bit to get the hang of entering frequencies, PL tones, etc. Once you figure out the process, the rest is pretty easy.  Much better than my Icom or Kenwood.
So far, I really like the radios and the wide frequency range it can handle.
